Big Buck Rental Cabin is conveniently located for enjoying the attractions and recreational opportunities in Ontonagon County. Excellent fishing on Lake Superior, only 15 miles north of the cottage or try your luck fishing the nearby Ontonagon River. There is a wonderful one-mile sandy swimming beach on Lake Superior in Ontonagon at the Township Park for sunning, swimming, or a little rock picking. Take a walk along the beach and enjoy the sunset and the view of the Porkies. Picnic tables, fire pits, and a playground for the kids.

Big Buck Cabin is a newly built one-bedroom log cabin with a loft and is fully furnished throughout the cabin. The open concept living area has large windows with a wonderful view of the woodlands, a gas fireplace, a satellite/digital TV with a DVD player, and a Bose Radio with a CD player. The completely equipped kitchen has full sized appliances, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and utensils for cooking and dining.

Big Buck Cabin has one bedroom on the main level with a queen-size bed and a loft with 2 twin beds. The bathroom has a shower. The comfortable couch in the living area converts to a queen-size sofa sleeper for extra guests.

All linens, towels and paper products are provided including complementary coffee, trash bags, paper plates, napkins, toilet paper, and paper towels.

There is a deck on front of the cabin for relaxing and enjoying this beautiful wooded area. Table and chairs and an electric grill for your outdoor cooking.

Big Buck Cabin in Greenland is ideally located for taking part in the wonderful recreational
opportunities in this area of the Western Upper Peninsula.

Hiking trails abound in the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park with a variety of trails through the forest wilderness. Take a walk up to Lake of the Clouds for an outstanding view of this beautiful Lake surrounded by dense forest. The Porcupine Mountains also offers winter fun with miles of groomed cross-country ski trails and downhill skiing at the Porcupine Mountain Ski Hill overlooking Lake Superior.

The Ottawa National Forest offers mountain biking on the back roads or designated trails and the North Country Scenic Hiking Trail is just a few miles away.

The area around Greenland offers excellent bird hunting as well as hunting for other small and large game in the public lands of the Ottawa National Forest.

The cabin is located at the intersection of trails #12 & #13, ATV where you will find endless riding. There is direct access to the Bill Nicholls multi-use trail for snowmobiling, mountain biking, and ATVing. This trail leads to Houghton, with connecting trails up to the Keweenaw Peninsula.

Enjoy visiting the several area waterfalls, go berry picking, or canoeing and kayaking on the nearby rivers and streams. To learn about the mining heritage around Greenland. take a tour of the old Adventure Copper Mine or visit the Old Victoria Restoration at the site of the Victoria Mine.

Greenland is in the heart of big snow country and Big Buck Cabin is right on the snowmobile trail. Trails #12 & #13 intersect at the end of the driveway so you can ride right from the cabin door.

These trails take you to Ontonagon and the Porcupine Mountains or you can ride on trails throughout the Ottawa Forest for some great fun in the snow on the 396 miles of groomed snowmobile trails in Ontonagon County.

Sorry, no smoking, but there is a covered deck outside for those who want to smoke.
