Enjoy the beautiful Cisco Chain of Lakes while vacationing at Big Lake Cabin on Big Lake in Northern Wisconsin. The newly redecorated two-bedroom cabin is located on 2 acres of wooded property with a peaceful lakefront setting. The bench on the end of the long dock is the perfect place for sitting, watching the wildlife, and enjoying the sunrise. Relax and listen to the call of the loons or watch an eagle soar overhead. A rowboat and Jon boat are provided for fishing and rowing around the lakes. The Cisco Chain of Lakes consists of 15 lakes with over 270 miles of scenic shoreline in northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Big Lake is one of the largest lakes on the chain with over 700 acres for fishing and enjoying the water. There is a boat ramp nearby if you bring your boat or boats can be rented at the nearby marina. Many islands offer picnic spots and the spring-fed waters offer excellent fishing for walleye, northern pike, musky, large and smallmouth bass, and an abundant supply of panfish.
Big Lake Cabin is comfortably furnished and has a TV (no cable or satellite) with a DVD game console. The free-standing wood-burning stove is ideal for sitting around and enjoying a crackling fire. The kitchen is fully equipped with full size appliances, a microwave, toaster, and coffee maker.
One bedroom contains a queen bed and the other bedroom has two twin beds. Linens are furnished, but please bring your own towels and paper products. The bathroom has a shower. Enjoy relaxing on the screened porch or sitting on the deck overlooking the lake. There is a charcoal grill for your outdoor cooking. Evenings are perfect for sitting around the campfire and roasting marshmallows. Try your luck fishing off the long dock or take out the boat and row around the secluded bays and the scenic shoreline. The natural shoreline is ideal for otters, eagles, and loons to make their homes. Those who enjoy swimming will find a public beach with a sand bottom on Big Oak Lake, 8 miles east of the cottage on County Road B.
Big Lake Cabin is surrounded by wonderful recreational opportunities. Only a short distance to the Sylvania Wilderness and the Ottawa National Forest for canoeing, kayaking, biking, hiking, hunting, ATVing, cross country skiing, and snowmobiling. Snowmobiles and ATVs can be rented in Watersmeet. Snowmobilers love all the snow that falls during the winter. Easy access to the trails that connect all through the Upper Peninsula for hundreds of miles of exciting riding. While you are staying at Big Lake Cabin, visitors might enjoy beautiful Bond Falls, one of our best kept secrets. Located only a few miles north on Hwy 45 and east on Bond Falls Road, this falls is a beauty so don't forget your camera. Agate Falls is just a few miles further. You might also want to investigate the mysterious Paulding Light that shines at night for no apparent reason. There is a casino in Watersmeet.
