Located on the quiet west end of town at the base of Brockway Mountain, the Brockway Inn offers year round lodging in Copper Harbor. We are also home to Boreal Beans, Michigan's Northernmost Coffeehouse. Our inn has 6 comfortable, clean, non-smoking rooms with color cable TV, some with private whirlpools. Guests enjoy free coffee in the coffeehouse each morning. A refrigerator and a microwave are available in common area. All units are non-smoking. Pets are welcome with some restrictions. Our coffeehouse offers great fresh brewed coffee and espresso drinks along with gourmet hot cocoas, teas, chai and more. We have a nice variety of treats to enjoy with your coffee. You'll find a unique selection of coffee related gifts as well as a "Mini Gallery" featuring local scenic images from Aurora Photography. Restaurants and shops are within walking
distance. There is an enclosed hallway along the front that links the rooms and serves to protect you from the north winter wind. You may leave your boots and outer gear in the hallway until the snow has melted. Enjoy some hot cocoa and conversation in our lobby as you watch the new snow gently falling on the town. The Copper Harbor area is a natural playground offering outdoor activities, natural attractions, tours and all the services you need for a great northern vacation. The bird migrations in spring and fall are spectacular. The Brockway Inn sponsors the Keweenaw's International Migratory Bird Day Festival in Copper Harbor. Boreal Beans features "Birding Central" where we post sightings and activity during migration and all summer long. Be sure to visit the Copper Harbor Lighthouse, placed into service in 1849 to guide the small ships coming in with supplies for the booming copper trade.
While you're here, take a ride up Brockway Mountain, 735 feet above lake level, (1,337 feet above sea level). The incredible panoramic view from the top lets you overlook Copper Harbor and Lake Superior. Watch for ore freighters going by. Don't miss the Estivant Pines, a stand of virgin white pines, 500-1000 years old. Trail maps are available in town. Stop by Mandan, one of the ghost mining towns that dot the landscape of the Keweenaw Peninsula. We are located right on the trail for easy access to skiing or snowmobiling. Mt. Bohemia, the new and exciting downhill ski area is open and only minutes away!
