This Children's book series is set at Seul Choix Lighthouse,
known as "the Haunted Lighthouse" near Gulliver in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan

The Captain and Harry series are stories of eternal friendship wrapped in historical facts and actual documented spirit sightings in and around the Seul Choix Pointe Lighthouse located in Gulliver, Michigan.

The first story, The Captain and Harry, a haunting tail of the Seul Choix Pointe Lighthouse, begins the series by introducing the two main characters and sets the background for the stories that follow. Lighthouse keeper from 1901-1910 Captain Joseph Townshend's spirit is said to haunt the restored lighthouse.

Captain Townshend and Harry, a very fat field mouse, combine to create characters that are mysterious and loveable. This book may be purchased by mail with a check or money order.

Both books are also available at Barnes and Noble The setting for the stories exactly follows the floor plan of the lighthouse and the residence and in itself becomes a third character.

 

Janice Langley, author and illustrator, was born in Harbor Beach, Michigan, located on the shores of Lake Huron. She grew up with the sound of the Harbor Beach light's fog horn in the background. She is the mother of three grown children and the wife of Richard J. Langley. They reside in Escanaba where Richard is co-owner of State Wide Real Estate. Jan writes 2-4 hours daily.

Jan holds an Associate degree in art from Siena Heights College and a B.A. from Northern Michigan University.
