The Chippewa is a unique motel with something for everyone. This 15-room motel on Chassell Bay has fully equipped kitchenettes, cable TV, air conditioning, tubs and showers, and individually controlled heat within units. The Chippewa Motel is handicapped accessible. All rooms are different. Some are kitchenettes, some have two bedrooms, some have twin beds, doubles or queens, others have a combination of doubles and twins. Each room is also decorated differently. All units have in room coffee and a view of the lake. Just let Al & Betty know what you are looking for, and they will provide the accommodations you need. Dining, gas and grocery nearby. For fresh Lake Superior fish, stop in at Peterson's Fish Market in Hancock. On the lakeside, the Chippewa Motel has a picnic area with tables and grills, beach, boat launch and playground. There is a handicapped accessible fishing pier behind the motel. This motel is centrally located for all the Keweenaw attractions. The area offers Trophy Class fishing for Walleye, Bass, Northern Pike and Trout, outstanding bird hunting and nature photography. Canoists and Kayakers, bring your boats. You can put in for the Keweenaw Water Trails at the lakeshore behind the Motel. See the mining ruins around Portage and Torch Lake from your canoe or kayak.
