The Christmas Motel is conveniently located on 6 acres of wooded land, just 5 miles west of Munising, the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, and Grand Island in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

The Christmas Motel offers 8 newly redecorated guest rooms and suites with Cable TV, coffee makers with coffee, and mini refrigerators.  Guest rooms offer queen or double beds and the two 2-room suites have a microwave for your convenience.

There is a large secluded grassy area behind the motel with grills, picnic tables, horseshoes, badminton, and a fire pit. This is a lovely private spot adjacent to the Hiawatha National Forest for guests to enjoy the outdoors after a busy day exploring the area.

The village of Christmas is by Lake Superior with restaurants, gas, shopping, a casino, and Bay Furnace Park on Lake Superior. A lovely place to sit and relax and enjoy the view of the lake.

The area around Christmas offers something for everyone all year round.

Enjoy active recreation such as hiking, biking, kayaking, swimming, scuba diving, fishing, ATVing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice climbing, dog sledding, and snowmobiling.

Want a more leisurely pace? Take a cruise on Lake Superior and view the Pictured Rocks from the water or see the ships sitting on the bottom of the harbor from the glass-bottomed boat.  Enjoy a canoe trip on the AuTrain River as it peacefully meanders through the Hiawatha National Forest. Tour the Grand Island Recreation Area by bike, foot, or bus or stroll on some of the trails in the Pictured Rocks. Enjoy the many area waterfalls, some can be seen from your car or are just a short walk, while others take you on a nice trail through the forest. Photographers will find wonderful photo opportunities around every turn.

There are wonderful Lake Superior sandy beaches nearby. The AuTrain beach is just 8 miles west of the Christmas Motel.  Relax and sit in the sand, build a sand castle, or wade in the refreshing waters of Lake Superior.

Visitors will find ATV, snowmobile, canoe, and kayak rentals nearby.

The Christmas Motel is conveniently located near exciting winter adventures. Ride your snowmobile right from the door on miles and miles of groomed trails. There are Cross-country ski trails at Valley Spur or the Pictured Rocks, dogsled rides just a short distance from the motel, and ice climbing for the adventurous.
