There are exciting winter adventures for guests of all ages.

Your stay includes a breakfast basket of fresh roasted coffee from the Great Lakes Coffee Company and a two-day supply of bagels, muffins, and delicious baked goods.

This comfortable 700 square feet lodge, located over a three car garage, has a private entrance and deck. A large picture window provides an excellent view of Powell Lake. One bedroom contains a double bed and the other bedroom has one double bed and one twin bed. There is a sleeper sofa and a day bed in the living area for a larger group. There is a bath with large shower. Linens and towels provided.

The great room has a western red cedar interior with satellite TV, DVD, and high-speed wireless internet service, and the kitchen has a stove and refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, and cookware. Guests may also enjoy the picnic table, gas grill, and fire pit by the lake.

Powell Lake is spring fed and has good fishing for bass, pike, walleye, perch and panfish. There is a kayak, rowboat, canoe, and fishing gear for guests to use. The lake has a nice sandy bottom for swimming and a dock for sunning or sitting and reading your favorite book. We have bicycles for guests to use for a ride on some of the back roads of the Hiawatha National Forest.

Children and adults will fall in love with the tree house which is a miniature version of the lodge right down to the western red cedar interior and green metal roof. Here's where you can enjoy the best view of the lake!

Winter is a delight at Falling Rock Lodge. We are located with easy access to the snowmobile trails so you can ride right from your door to the main groomed trail system in Alger County.

Winter Fun at Falling Rock Lodge

Falling Rock Lodge is located close to groomed cross-country ski trails with ice fishing right in front of the lodge. Dogsled rides are offered nearby and the adventurous might try rock climbing in the Pictured Rocks. Photographers will enjoy all the opportunities for winter shots of frozen waterfalls, the snowy countryside, and the Pictured Rocks and Lake Superior in winter.

Nearby Munising, on the shores of Lake Superior, offers shopping, dining, the entrance to the Pictured Rocks, the Grand Island Ferry, and boat cruises. Food, books, and souvenirs are available at the The Falling Rock Café and Bookstore in Munising.
