Munising is located in Alger County on the Lake Superior Shoreline. Grand Island is just offshore 1/2 mile from Munising Bay. We are only two hours northwest of the Mackinac Bridge.

Grand Island Snowmobile Rentals is located 2 blocks west of the railroad tracks and the East Citgo Station in Munising.

This area averages over 220 inches of snow each year (Kingston Plains, 300") and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan has over 2,500 miles of trails traversing the Peninsula. It's no wonder they call Munising the "Snowmobile Capital of the World".

Several restaurants, motels, and resorts are located on or a short distance from over 250 miles of groomed trails in and around the Munising area.

There are also hundreds of miles of non-groomed roads and trails on state and federal land that is also accessible to snowmobilers.

The Munising area has been featured in all the magazines for its Great Trail Riding, Scenic Beauty, and #1 Pit Stops.

All Grand Island Rental Snowmobiles are cleaned, serviced and inspected prior to each ride and upon their return! Call and reserve your sled for some fun in the snow.

A well-kept secret has always been the Great Kingston Plains, 29 miles east of Munising. This area was logged back in the 1880's to rebuild Chicago after the great fires. What this has left, is miles and miles of plains (pine stumps) with peaks and valleys covered in tons of snow. It does not get any better than this for riding! We usually have great snow at the Plains until mid to late April.

Rentals are from 9 a.m. to 8 a.m. the following day (23 hours). There are no partial day rentals. There is a 2-day minimum with weekend rentals.

Rates: $180.00 per day plus 6% Michigan user tax
Multi-Day Rates plus 6% Michigan user tax:
Two Days: $170 per day
Three Days: $160 per day
Four Days: $150.00 per day
Five Days: $145.00 per day
Six Days: $140.00 per day
Seven Days: $135.00 per day

One time charges with your sled rental:
Helmets: $20.00
Jackets: $10.00
Bibs: $10.00
Rent all three for $30.00

A $1,000 security deposit is required (credit card or cash) for each snowmobile. Deliveries are available for a $20.00 minimum charge, depending on location.

All sleds leave with a full tank of gas and oil, and should be returned by the renter the same way. If not, a charge of $35.00 will be added.

Snowmobiles are expected to be returned in the same condition as when they left.

The rentor is responsible for each sled he/she is renting and owns it until it is returned. Any damage and repair costs are the responsibility of the renter. Our sleds have liability insurance but not collision insurance. Some homeowner policies have coverage with a simple phone call to your agent. (Serial numbers are available when needed).
