The new Holiday Inn Express Lakeview is located on the shores of Lake Superior, just 2 miles west of downtown Munising on Highway M-28 in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

This newly constructed three-story hotel sits on a bluff overlooksing Lake Superior, Munising Bay, Grand Island, and the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and has an elevator for your convenience. The Holiday Inn Express Lakeview offers 62 deluxe guest rooms including 15 one and two bedroom suites, guest rooms with a king-sized bed or two queen-sized beds, and four handicap rooms with accessible showers. The lakeview rooms have balconies facing the water while others offer a view of a wooded hillside. Each guest room has high-speed internet access, large cable TV, in-room coffee/ tea makers, phone with free local calls, irons & ironing boards, hairdryers, and a desk/work area with a lamp. Refrigerators and cribs are available and we offer connecting rooms. Our one and two bedroom suites are comfortably furnished and have a microwaves and refrigerators.

We serve a complementary continental breakfast buffet in our breakfast room to get your day off to a wonderful start. Our lobby area contains a large 27" flat screen TV with comfortable chairs, and a business center with high speed wired and wireless internet access. Coffee is served all day long.

The Holiday Inn Express Lakeview is only 2 miles from Munising where you will find restaurants, shopping, and the entrance to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.

Stop by the Pictured Rocks and Hiawatha National Forest Visitor Center at the blinking light to pick up maps of the Lakeshore, Grand Island, and directions to the area waterfalls. Visit the Pictured Rocks Interpretive Center on Washington Street and take the short path to beautiful Munising Falls, cascading 40' to 50' down the rocky cliff into a little valley. Spectacular in the winter. Take a pleasant walk on some of the hiking trails throughout the Pictured Rocks Lakeshore, view Miners Castle from the overlook, or take the ferry boat to Grand Island where you will find trails for hiking and biking. You can take a bus tour of the island from the middle of June through Labor Day.

Enjoy the beautiful waters of Lake Superior on the Pictured Rocks Boat Tour or view shipwrecks from the glass-bottomed boat on the Shipwreck Tours. Go charter fishing or scuba dive in the Alger Underwater Preserve.

The public lands of the Hiawatha National Forest beckon those who enjoy fishing, hunting, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, hiking, and birding.

Winter brings lots of lake effect snow to Munising area and you will find groomed cross country ski trails, dogsledding, ice fishing, and opportunities to go snowshoeing in the deep snow.
