Kaufman's Cabin at Nevins Lake is a newly finished log cabin between Grand Marais and Munising in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The cabin has 2 bedrooms with full beds and a loft with a double bed and 4 twin beds. Crib available. The cabin sleeps a maximum of 8 guests. Linens are supplied. There are 2 full bathrooms.

The modern kitchen includes a stove, refrigerator, microwave oven, coffee maker, toaster and all the dishes and pots and pans you could possibly need. There is a washer and dryer in the cabin.

This very comfortable smoke-free cabin has both a satellite TV, VCR, and DVD so bring some tapes to watch. Gas grill on the deck.

Nevins Lake is a crystal clear lake filled with northern pike and bass just waiting for a delectable bait to be dropped in the water. The lake is perfect for swimming and canoeing in the summer and ice fishing in the winter. 14' aluminum boat is available for our guests.

Paper products and toiletries are to be supplied by the renter.

Winter offers wonderful recreational opportunities in this big snow area. Snowmobile trails lead from the cottage door and connect with the trail system that leads throughout the Upper Peninsula. Ride up to Grand Marais or Munising for lunch or take a ride to visit Tahquamenon Falls. Trails lead throughout the Lake Superior State Forest for outstanding riding.

Cross country skiers will enjoy skiing on the lake or on the back roads around the cottage, and the woods are an ideal place to try out some snowshoes.

Your location between Grand Marais and Munising permits you to see the many attractions in the area while staying at a lakeside cabin in the woods.

While you are in the Munising-Grand Marais area, visit the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, and Grand Island National Recreation Area, take the exciting Glass Bottomed Boat Shipwreck Tour, go scuba diving in the Alger Underwater Preserve, or tour the Pictured Rocks via airplane. You can also tour the Pictured Rocks by boat. Take a drive or a hike into the Seney National Wildlife Refuge, or visit the Kewadin Casino with Slots and Blackjack at Christmas, 4 miles west of Munising. This area is at the edge of the magnificent Hiawatha National Forest and offers an abundance of waterfalls. There are many lighthouses in this area including the two west channel lights at Christmas, the two east range lights at Munising and the AuSable Lighthouse near Grand Marais.
