Paddling Manistique Kayak and Canoe Rentals Northern Lake Michigan Area

Serving the Northern Lake Michigan Area, Manistique Harbor, Indian Lake, Gulliver Lake, Hiawatha National Forest, and the Garden Peninsula we have kayaks and canoes available for hourly, daily, and weekly periods. Paddles and Life Preservers are included with every rental.

Nestled at the very top of Lake Michigan this area offers many opportunities to spend a day or two on a small lake, or a river,
around the lighthouses and in the bays and harbors off this pristine area called the “Land of Hiawatha”. Numerous small lakes in the national forest are great for fishing, many have campgrounds, and the wildlife are abundant. You can spend up to a week on the Indian River, paddle underneath the White Limestone Cliffs near Fayette State Park, cruise along the Lake Michigan Shoreline on a nice day, take a nice paddle with friends and family at Indian or Gulliver Lakes, paddle in the Manistique Harbor and Lighthouse, take pictures, forget about work, and just relax and enjoy being here in Michigan’s Beautiful Upper Peninsula.  You can also take a short 45 minute jaunt up to Munising for the kayak tour along the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore with us.

Manistique is located just 1.5 hours west of the Mackinac Bridge. Chicago is a short 6 hours away and Detroit is only 7 hours of easy driving.

We rent Canoes from Old Town in 15 and 16 foot lengths and Emotion Recreational Kayaks that are 10-14 Feet in length. Single and Double and Fishing Kayak models are available. If you require outfitting such as tents, stoves, etc, that can be arranged with prior notice and a reservation. If you have a large group and require sea kayaks for paddling the Garden Peninsula or require a guide, it can also be arranged with prior notice and a reservation.

We have foam blocks and straps to carry your rentals or we can deliver them for you at an additional cost and with prior notice.

*Includes: 2 man tent, 2 sleeping pads, stove, cookware, mess kit, first aid kit, & utility kit

Renters must be 18 years of age, or have a parent or guardian sign, have a valid driver’s license and credit card. Michigan Use Tax of 6% applies. Deposit of 50% is required for rental of 3 or more days.
