Kemosabe Cabins are centrally located with easy access to a variety of recreational opportunities and only a short drive to area attractions. Numerous fishing lakes surround Kemosabe Cabins so bring your own boat or canoe or these can be rented in the area for some great fun on the water. Nearby Pete's Lake offers fishing for northern pike, smallmouth bass, and pan fish as well as a nice sand beach with clear water for swimming and picnicking. Boat ramp and large parking lot for your trailer.

Other area lakes offer fishing, canoeing, and kayaking or you can go charter fishing for some big ones on Lake Superior. Beautiful sandy Lake Superior beaches are so beautiful in the summer that "if you put palm trees on them you would think you were in HAWAII!!"

We are located with easy access to the ATV trails so get set for some great riding in the Hiawatha National Forest. Mike has trail maps available and he will help you plan a fun ride.

Hikers and mountain bikers will enjoy Bruno's Run, a 9-mile trail through the forest that runs over hills and valleys with scenic overlooks and wildlife viewing. Pick up the trail at Moccasin Lake or Pete's Lake and enjoy the wilderness during the spring, summer, and fall when the color is beautiful. Trail is not groomed during the winter and is great fun for snowshoeing.

Hikers will also enjoy the trails in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and on Grand Island. Bikes can be rented at the Ferry Dock for use on the island.

Take a Shipwreck Tour in the Glass-Bottomed Boat, the Pictured Rocks Cruise, a waterfall tour, or go scuba diving, snorkeling, or sea-kayaking. There is a Kewadin Casino in Christmas, only 3 miles west of Munising.

Our area has 252 lakes for fishing and boating and visitors to the area will enjoy visiting the 14 area waterfalls.

Winter brings 250 to 300 inches of snow each year to the Alger County area and we have easy trail access to trail #8 that will connect with trails offering some awesome riding. Snowmobile rentals nearby if you need a sled. Cross-country groomed ski trails are nearby, try your luck ice fishing, or go for a dogsled ride.
