The Kenbuck Resort year round cabins are located in the Hiawatha National Forest, just 18 miles south of Munising, yet deep in the dense woods (Maps). There are 100 lakes within ten miles of your cabin.
Kenbuck is a sportsman's resort with 5 clean housekeeping cabins. There are four two-bedroom cabins and one with three bedrooms. Cabins 1, 2, and 5 have an oven and Cabins 3 and 4 have a three burner hot plate. All bedrooms have double beds. If there is a large group, the five cabins can sleep up to 24 people.
You only need to bring dish towels, bath towels, food & clothing, plus your favorite fishing rod, gun, snowmobile, or camera. You are deep in the heart of the Hiawatha National Forest but there are restaurants within a few miles that serve lunch and dinner. Bring food for your breakfast and snacks. National Forest Trails are right down the road so you can begin your adventure at your front door.
Each cabin comes with a boat. There is a screen house, fire pit, picnic table, grill, and fish cleaning house for your convenience.
Kenbuck Resort is the Sportsman's Secret Spot! Enjoy Mother Nature at her best with excellent summer and winter fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, canoeing, horseback riding, biking, hiking, or just plain relaxing. The Sturgeon River and Chicago Lake are nearby for great summer and winter fishing.
This is the ideal location for horse owners to bring their own horses as there are portable corrals available and the Pine Marten Horse Trail is nearby. We have space for your horses and trailers so you can ride through the forest, just you and your horse, without another human being in sight.
The Pine Marten Horse Trail (Map) can also be used for cross country skiing, biking, or hiking so you can take that trip through the forest that you've always dreamed about.
Fall colors are beautiful as the forest abounds with hardwoods. Any time of year is a great opportunity for some outstanding wildlife photographs. You will see the creatures of the forest everywhere you look.
Snowmobile through the deep woods, then end up back at the cottage or at your favorite night spot. You can snowmobile anywhere you want from here, this area has deep snow and over 300 miles of trails connecting to the over 2,500 miles of trails in the Upper Peninsula. For the ultimate winter adventure spend the day dog sledding. Guided Dogsled trips are nearby. Snowmobile rentals in Munising. Cross Country ski and mountain bike trails nearby. Enjoy the best of the entire Munising area while staying in the beautiful Hiawatha National Forest.
There is plenty of room for parking boat, horse, or snowmobile trailers.
