Little Blue Cabin is conveniently located on the edge of Grand Marais, Michigan near the Lake Superior harbor and sandy beach. Exciting recreational opportunities await you from active adventures to a peaceful stroll along the beach looking for interesting rocks. Summer guests may use the owner’s private beach on the Grand Marais Harbor for sunning and swimming.
Little Blue Cabin, (yes, it is now white) offers 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms on a large lot with a creek running through the back yard. The comfortably furnished living room offers a TV with VCR and DV players but no television hook-up. There is a dining area and a complete kitchen with full-size appliances, a microwave and coffee maker. The laundry room contains a washer and dryer.
There are four bedrooms with a double bed in each room. One bathroom has a tub/shower combination and the second bathroom has a shower. Bed linens and basic paper products are provided, but please bring your own towels.
A picnic table and charcoal grill is in the back yard for your outdoor cooking and relaxing. There is an attached 2-car garage for your gear or vehicle and lots of room for your boat or cargo trailers.
Little Blue Cabin is located on the south side of the village of Grand Marais, the eastern gateway to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Enjoy recreational opportunities during every season. Take some of the day trips from Grand Marais into the 42 miles of the Pictured Rocks Lakeshore. Hike to the AuSable Lighthouse or the Devil’s Log slide. Visit Sable Falls. Go fishing in some of the streams or nearby inland lakes, or enjoy relaxing on the public sandy Lake Superior beach.
Equipment rentals and gear are available at the Grand Marais Outfitters in Grand Marais. Rent a kayak and paddle the harbor or try your luck fishing. The Fox River, a Michigan Blue Ribbon Trout Stream, is nearby. Explore the backcountry on an ATV or a snowmobile during the winter when there is lots of snow.
The village of Grand Marais is about ½ mile north of the Little Blue Cabin for dining and shopping. Visit the “Teeny Weenie Pickle Barrel” Museum, the Agate Museum, or the Grand Marais Maritime and Historical Museum is in the old Lighthouse Keepers Dwelling on Coast Guard Point.
Winter brings tons of snow to Grand Marais for wonderful snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. There are groomed cross-country ski trails in the Pictured Rocks and at the Seney Wildlife Refuge, a few miles south of Grand Marais.
