Loon's Nest Resort Your Hosts: Tom & Colleen Clock
Located 1 hour from the Mackinac Bridge in the heart of the Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We are a small quiet resort located on the scenic Big Manistique Lake. We have one and two bedroom housekeeping cottages-clean and neat with cable TV and sliding glass doors opening on the deck. We are open year round for your enjoyment.
We also have a rental house with 3 bedrooms, free standing gas fireplace, sliding doors to deck, cathedral ceilings, and full bath. Big Manistique Lake has an abundance of walleye, perch, pike, tiger muskie, whitefish and panfish. Catch some of our walleyes, then cook them on the barbecue grill next to your cottage. Sit on your open back porch and enjoy your meal as you look out over Big Manistique Lake. Our network of rivers and streams provides some of the finest trout fishing in the state. The trout season opens the last Saturday in April. If mountain biking or hiking is your sport, we have miles of trails in the Curtis area. Each winter, snow comes early and stays late for your snowmobiling and cross country skiing pleasure. Snowmobile from your door on over 90 miles of local trails which connect to the 2,500 miles of trails in the U.P. Try some of the hundreds of miles of unplowed forest roads or enjoy snowmobiling on Big Manistique Lake.
There is great ice fishing on Big Manistique Lake, and North and South Manistique Lakes. You will find an abundance of walleye, perch, pike, tiger muskie, whitefish and panfish. If cross-country skiing is your sport, we have miles of groomed trails in the Curtis area. In the evening, snowmobilers, skiers and fishermen gather at local restaurants and taverns to talk about the day's experiences. Sitting in warm, comfortable surroundings, you can watch the snow gently falling as the area puts on a new covering of white. Then come back to the most comfortable and friendly resort in the area. We are centrally located in the eastern Upper Peninsula.
