Lodging at the Historic House MacLeod Bed & Breakfast, Gulliver, MI, located on 25 wooded acres in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and the Bear's Den Cottage on Gulliver Lake. Located near Seul Choix Lighthouse, the Seney National Wildlife Refuge, Lake Michigan, and only 15 miles east of Manistique, MI. Part of the House MacLeod B & B is an original log homestead that was built in the mid 1800's . This lovely log homestead has been completely restored and offers comfortable accommodations for travelers in this private rental suite. A hearty breakfast is served each morning to get you started on your day.
The living area has a beamed log ceiling and a wood brick fireplace and the kitchen area has a table and chairs overlooking the beautiful yard. Surrounded by 25 wooded acres containing century old trees and an apple orchard the house is in secluded and peaceful surroundings. Ideal for an evening stroll through the woods, walking over to Gulliver Lake, Lake Michigan, or relaxing under an apple tree.
The House MacLeod offers a unique rental option as it is rented to only one guest each night for a flat rate so you will have privacy and the opportunity to relax and enjoy this beautiful setting. The B&B will sleep up to 5 guests so there is room for your family, friends, or guests of your choosing. Private area on Gulliver Lake for swimming, boating, or fishing. The Bear's Den Cottage is a modern housekeeping cottage for rent on Gulliver Lake that will accommodate 6 to 8 guests and is open year round.
Fully equipped kitchen with full sized appliances, dishwasher, microwave, dishes, and cooking utensils. Living area has a TV & VCR and a wonderful view of the waterfront and the surrounding area. Sliding glass doors open onto the deck that overlooks Gulliver Lake. Bed linens, towels, and blankets are provided.
Guests at the House MacLeod B & B or the Bear's Den Cottage you might like to walk along the roads and trails or take an evening stroll over to the Lake Michigan beach. While you are enjoying the House MacLeod B&B or the Bear's Den Cottage you might like to visit The Historic Seul Choix Lighthouse built in 1895. This nearby Historic Site on Lake Michigan is open daily during the summer and features a Gift Shop, Video Room, Research Library and Two Museums. The Lighthouse is still an active aid to Navigation and the lantern room is fitted with a modern airport beacon lens. The Seney National Wildlife Refuge is about 20 miles north of Gulliver on M-77 where you will find the 7 mile Marshland Wildlife Drive and hiking and biking trails throughout the Refuge. Bring your camera as the refuge is full of wildlife. Canoes, kayaks, and mountain bikes can be rented in Germfask and there is canoe livery for fishing or paddling trips down the Manistique River at Big Cedar Campground.
