Michihistrigan is located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan on U.S. 2,
65 miles west of the Mackinac Bridge. Just a few miles from Curtis and Gould City
in the Manistique Lakes Recreation Area.

The Michihistrigan Recreation Area offers Camping and Rental Cabins.

Michihistrigan and the West Mackinac Association will be hosting a benefit dinner for Jerry Swiercz on Saturday, August 28th from 3pm to 10pm.

Activities include spaghetti dinner, live music by the Mud Hole Bans, 50/50 drawings, and an auction at 7pm. In addition, Michihistrigan will have drink specials and will donate 1/2 of the camping rates to Jerry on that night. Any donations, cash or auction items, may be dropped off at Michihistrigan during our normal business hours.

 

The Farmhouse Restaurant
Now Open

The Farmhouse Restaurant has reopened under new management and is open daily from 7 am to 9 pm featuring a full menu and a well-stocked bar. The family friendly restaurant offers specialties including homemade bread, soup, and desert. Enjoy a delicious Fish Fry on Friday.

The Farmhouse is located on US-2, just west of the junction with H-33, (the road to Curtis).

Campground and Cabins

Michihistrigan Campground and Cabins are open and offers modern and rustic sites for campers and year round rental cabins. Community Building with showers and laundry facilities. Pets Welcome

CABINS
Our rental cabins will accommodate your family of 2 or a group of up to 14 people. Three cabins have double-bed bunks and a bathroom with a shower. Cabin four has additional double bed bunks and will sleep up to14 people. We furnish the linens & towels. The cabins will be open year round. Reservations are recommended, at $45.00/night they go fast on the weekends!
 
CAMPING
Our campground offers 34 pull through sites. 12 campsites offer full service with water, electricity and sewer @ #28.00, and 22 sites have water and electricity @$24.00. The campground has rustic sites for tenting or small campers. Dump station. There are showers and laundry facilities located in the Community Building. The Campground will be open from May 1st through December 1st

PICNIC PAVILLION
Enjoy our 28' X 40' Picnic Pavilion with a 10' Fireplace & Grill. A great spot for your cook-out or relaxing around a roaring fire.
HUNTING
Hunting is excellent. We are near thousands of acres of state and corporate forest.
Winter at Michihistrigan
SNOWMOBILING
Snowmobile from your cabin door. There are local trails heading out in all directions that connect with the over 2,500 miles of Upper Peninsula Trails. You can travel a few miles a day or hundreds of miles. Snowmobile to the Pictured Rocks in Grand Marais or see beautiful Tahquamenon Falls covered with ice and snow. The Farmhouse Restaurant is on the snowmobile trail so stop in for a meal while you are riding the trails.
 
SKIING
 
For an unusual experience, ski the Seney National Wildlife Refuge. Seney offers 8.5 miles of groomed trails. Not all the animals are hibernating, so go quietly and watch carefully

Michihistrigan is located near the Seney National Wildlife Refuge, a very interesting place to visit. Tour the refuge by bike, canoe, hike the many paths, or drive the 7 mile Marshland Wildlife Drive. The Seul Choix Lighthouse in Gulliver is just a short distance from the campground and cabins. The keepers dwelling is an interesting museum and you can climb the tower for an awesome view of Lake Michigan.
