The Nordic Pines Cabin has a modern kitchen with full size appliances, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher, cooking utensils, dishes, and silverware. The open concept living area has comfortable furnishings. There is a VCR player for your favorite movies, but no TV connection.

The Nordic Pines Cabin has two bedrooms and will sleep up to 4 guests. The large master bedroom has a 4-poster log queen-size bed and two cozy chairs in front of the glass doors that open onto the deck. A great spot to enjoy your morning beverage and listen to the birds sing. The second bedroom contains two twin beds. The bathroom has a shower. Linens, towels, and paper products are furnished for our guests.
The deck is furnished with outdoor furniture including a picnic table with a solar umbrella. There is a charcoal grill on the deck for your cookouts.
The Au Train River meanders through the Hiawatha National Forest and is a fun paddle or boat ride. A 15’ boat and 6 HP motor is available to rent. Boat upriver to Au Train Lake for fishing or a cruise around the lake.There are canoe and kayak rentals nearby for a fun paddle down the river to Lake Superior.

You might like to take a stroll on the Songbird Trail, located at the boat landing on AuTrain Lake. Tapes available at the grocery store in Au Train so you can recognize the birds by their songs.
Recreation abounds in Alger County and the area around AuTrain. The Nordic Pines Cabin is conveniently located 1 mile from the wonderful sandy beach on the shores or Lake Superior. Sit in the sand, build a sand castle, or wade in the refreshing water. Bikes to use on Grand Island and sea kayaks can be rented at the Grand Island Ferry dock. ATV rentals in Christmas for an interesting ride through the Forest.
Munising, the Pictured Rocks Lakeshore, Grand Island, and the boat cruises are only a few miles east of the cabin. View the several waterfalls, hike the many trails, and don’t forget your camera. Shopping, dining, and a casino are nearby.
Enjoy all the natural beauty of the area at the Nordic Pines Cabin on the Au Train River.
