The Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park is just 15 miles west of the Northern Light Inn where you can drive up to see the beautiful Lake of the Clouds. The Park offers miles of hiking trails and interpretive programs are presented during the summer. Winter offers downhill skiing and miles and miles of cross country ski trails. The Northern Light Inn B&B is perfect for that romantic getaway, anniversary, second honeymoon or just a special vacation in this peaceful serene setting. Winter is especially beautiful in the Ontonagon area and there are many outdoor recreational activities that you might enjoy. Ontonagon, the Porcupine Mountains, and the Ottawa National Forest have wonderful cross country ski trails, miles of wooded areas for snowshoeing, downhill skiing at the Porkies, ice fishing, and great photographic opportunities. The streets in Ontonagon are open for snowmobiling so you are just a couple blocks from the downtown area for restaurants, shopping, and the main snowmobile trail system located 5 blocks away.
