The National Registered Historic Coastal Schooner Coaster II was built in 1933 and has sailed to many ports on both sides of the equator. The Coaster II is a wooden hulled, gaff-rigged schooner with topsails designed by Murry Peterson and has been carefully maintained. The Coaster II has been recently outfitted with a new diesel engine, new electrical systems, new sails, a new interior rebuild, and a new shipmate stove.
We provide Coast Guard approved life jackets for adults and children. Those children under 10 are required to wear a life jacket at all times. Sorry, we do not provide infant life jackets.
Join Licensed Captain Niko Economides and his crew: Jill, Thanos, and Cyrus Economidies for an exciting sail in this historic sailing schooner on the waters of Lake Superior, the largest of the Great Lakes.

Sailing depends on the weather conditions, but the Coaster II will sail in rain showers. Captain Niko will decide if the weather is too harsh for an enjoyable sail. Rescheduling of trips or a refund is available for inclement weather.
Superior Odyssey Ship’s Store features mugs, T-Shirts, Hoodies, Knot Work, and Wood Craft created by Captain Niko Economides. Custom Woodwork includes Hand Carved Dove Tail Chests, Wall Cabinets, Sculptures and Furniture.
We recommend that passengers bring sweaters or jackets, hats, rain coats, sunscreen, and sunglasses as it is often cool out on the water.
Directions: Marquette is located in the north central Upper Peninsula of Michigan and can be reached on Highway US-41 or M-28. Take Washington Street to the waterfront where you will find the Ellwood Mattson Park and the Lower Harbor. There is ample parking for your vehicles while you sail on this magnificent schooner on Lake Superior.
