Onpawe Lodge is a quiet place on a private road called Caps Lane. Historically known for its fine fishing and duck hunting, Little Bay De Noc is the home of the Small Mouth Bass, Walleye, Salmon and panfish. Deer, turkeys, many duck varieties, and geese are in abundance. Eagles can be seen fishing along the shallows of the Bay and you will be treated to magnificent sunsets over the Little Bay de Noc.

The cottage is located in a wooded setting on the east shore of Little Bay de Noc. There is lots of yard space and shoreline for relaxing as you sit by the water, light your campfire, and enjoy the awesome sunsets. Bring your boat and get ready to head out and catch some trophy Walleye or a mess of Perch and panfish to cook up on the charcoal grill. There is a boat ramp a few miles north of the cabin at Hunters Point in the Hiawatha National Forest. There is a very excellent launching site at Rapid River and in nearby Gladstone, where you can rent boat slips by the day. It's only a short walk to the Country Store to buy bait and even order a pizza.

Onpawe Lodge has an open kitchen, living and eating area. The kitchen has full sized appliances, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and a crockpot. There is a sofa sleeper, TV with local reception, and a wood burning fireplace to sit around after a busy day.

The cottage has two bedrooms that are on the main level. One bedroom has a double bed and the other bedroom has a single bed. There are two lofts: one has four single beds and the other loft has a queen-sized bed. Bathroom with shower.

Bring your linens, pillows, towels, paper products, and blankets, pick up some groceries, and you are all set for a wonderful vacation on Little Bay de Noc.

Onpawe Lodge is surrounded by the Hiawatha National Forest where you will find lakes and streams for fishing and canoeing and miles of woods for hiking, birding, biking, and wildlife watching.

Hunters: Archery and firearm opportunities abound with great hunting due to low pressure on the deer herd because of our location. Whether in a blind or a tree stand, the game you take will only be limited by your skills.

The Peninsula Point Lighthouse Tower at the end of the Stonington Peninsula offers an outstanding view of both Big and Little Bays de Noc, Escanaba, and Lake Michigan in the distance.

The lighthouse tower is open for climbing and you can see the old historic mining town of Fayette on the Garden Peninsula and the Minneapolis Shoal Light about 8 miles south of the Peninsula Point Light on a clear day.

Restaurants and shopping are nearby in Rapid River, Gladstone, or Escanaba.

Pets welcome with permission.
