D. Ott Shack is a comfortable vacation home by Dave’s Falls County Park in northeastern Wisconsin. Located only 1 mile south of the town of Amberg by the Pike River . . . a great spot for fishing and kayaking. Nestled in the woods surrounded by public woodlands, D. Ott Shack is a peaceful spot for relaxing and enjoying the beauty of nature.

The cottage living room is in the front of the house and has comfortable furnishings and Dish TV with a DVD player. The Fireplace Room overlooks the county park and has a wood-burning fireplace, perfect for sitting around after exploring the area. The modern kitchen has a microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and dining and cooking utensils. There is a laundry room with a washer, dryer, and a sink.

There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bedroom has a queen-size bed and the other bedroom has a set of bunk beds with a double bed on the bottom and a single bed on the top. There is also a sofa sleeper in the living room and one in the fireplace room for extra guests. One bathroom has a tub/shower combination and the other bathroom has a shower. Linens, towels, and toilet paper are supplied for our guests.

There is a covered patio with outdoor furniture at the back of the house, a perfect spot for sitting and relaxing. A charcoal grill is available for your outdoor cooking and there is a fire pit for your campfires. The two-car attached garage is available for your vehicle or working on your boat or snowmobile.

Enjoy a scenic bike ride. The Pike River-Four Seasons Loop and the Pembine-Amberg Loop both begin at Dave’s Falls County Park, right by the cottage. Trails lead to nearby waterfalls and rapidsfor a great bike trip.

The D. Ott Shack Vacation Home is located 70 miles north of Green Bay or 20 miles north of Crivitz on Highway US-141 in the northwoods of Wisconsin. Surrounded by woods, lakes, streams, and numerous waterfalls, this is a perfect spot for outdoor enthusiasts or those that just want to sit and relax and enjoy this beautiful location.

There are several waterfalls in the area. Most are only a short walk, but a few are on back gravel roads and the hike is a bit of a challenge. Lots of fun to go exploring for these peaceful falls where all you hear are the birds singing and the rushing water.

Dave’s Falls County Park
Dave’s Falls is a small waterfall on the Pike River surrounded by beautiful trees and unusual rock formations. Just a short hike to the lower falls with a more difficult path to the upper falls. Nice playground for the children. Small fee.

Bull Falls is also nearby on Highway K. Take Highway K to the power lines. Park in the power line right-of-way and take a short walk north to the river. This is a small falls with rushing waters.

Anglers will find good fishing on the nearby Pike River or the Menominee River, 10 miles east on Highway K. There is a boat ramp on the Michigan side of the Menominee.  There are many nearby lakes and rivers for kayaking, boating and swimming.

Don’t miss our bright fall color season, usually from mid-September through mid-October.

The town of Amberg is 1 mile from the cottage where you will find a restaurant, gas, a hardware store, and groceries. Golf courses are nearby and there is whitewater rafting on the Peshtigo River for the adventurous.

Winter brings lots of fun to the area. The snowmobile trailhead is nearby leading to hundreds of miles of groomed trails for a fun adventure. The area is absolutely beautiful in the winter.

RATES:
Rates are based on 6 adults. Children 16 and over are the adult rate.
Extra person above 6: $10.00 per night.

Dogs permitted with extra security deposit of $50
