Each new duplex unit has 2 bedrooms, a kitchenette, gas fireplace, and there is a connecting door between the two units for large groups. The cabin has an open concept living area with a gas fireplace, knotty pine interior, and log furniture. The kitchen area has a stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and necessary cooking and eating utensils. Enjoy our campfire and picnic area in front of the cabins. We have three one-bedroom cabins that sleep 4 to 6 people. Sit around the campfire in our picnic area where we have charcoal grills for cooking up a bar-be-cue or some freshly caught fish and share your latest adventure or fishing story. Playground for the children.
Our Bait Shop has fishing supplies, live bait: worms, minnows, crawlers, ice, Pizzas and a pizza oven for cooking, ice cream, and a variety of personal care items.
We rent boats and motors but you need to have a trailer hitch on your vehicle for transportation to one of the nearby lakes for fishing. "R" Cabins are located in the Copper Country State Forest with hundreds of acres of public lands for outdoor lovers to enjoy. Anglers will find the nearby Michigamme Reservoir (also called Way Day) a good fishing spot for smallmouth bass, walleye, northern pike, muskellunge, and panfish. Most of the land is open to hunting. Sawyer Lake is 4 miles north of Channing where you might catch small and large mouth bass, walleye, bluegill, northern pike, and crappies. Nice swimming area if you want to enjoy a dip in the lake. Silver Lake is 6 miles north of the cabins with large and small mouth bass, walleye bluegills, perch, and crappies. There is even a spot for bank fishing if you don't have a boat and a swimming beach. Several other good lakes and streams for fishing and paddlers will enjoy the Michigamme River for canoeing, and kayaking. Just ask Tex and he will get you all set for a good day out on the water. There are trails and back roads for ATVing and off-roading throughout the county, and the area multi-use trails are perfect for biking, hiking, or cross-country skiing in the winter.
