Cozy 2 bedroom cottage for rent on Lake Independence in Big Bay, MI. Only 25 miles north of Marquette in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Shaw's Cabin has an open concept living area, TV (antenna), VCR, wood-burning fireplace, and a deck overlooking Lake Independence. Great spot for relaxing and enjoying the view of the lake and the northwoods. Early risers will be treated so some great sunrises over the lake. The kitchen has full sized appliances, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker. Bedrooms have a queen-sized bed in one room and the other bedroom has 2 bunks. Bath with shower stall. Linens are provided but bring your beach towels. Picnic table, lawn chairs and charcoal grill are included - - don't forget the charcoal for some tasty cookouts. Fire pit for campfires under the stars and roasting some marshmallows.
Shaw's cabin offers excellent swimming. The water is shallow near shore for the children but the lake is a deep and large enough for water fun. Small dock with two mooring points for tying the boats or you can just sit on the dock and soak up a little sun. Lake Independence is a large lake with excellent fishing and plenty of room to water ski or wakeboard without bothering the fisherman. Boat ramp nearby at Perkins Park. A 14' rowboat and a canoe are provided for fishing or enjoying the lake. Take a row or paddle around the shoreline or drop a line in the water and see if you can catch a big one for supper. Fishing motors can be rented in Big Bay. Great hiking and mountain biking in the edge of the Huron Mountains. Sorry, No smoking Rates: 3 night minimum stay
