Shelter Bay Charters takes you to some of the best fishing waters in the Upper Peninsula of MI with Captain Mitch Mattson and his crew. Shelter Bay Charters offers full day, half-day, and hourly sport fishing charters on Lake Superior departing from beautiful Shelter Bay. Fish for Salmon, Lake Trout, Whitefish, and Steelhead as well as other species of fish.

 

Captain Mitch Mattson has been fishing the waters of Lake Superior for over 20 years and offers charter fishing trips to Stannard Rock, the Big Reef, the Shelter Bay Flats, Grand Marais, Trout Bay by Grand Island, and Munising Bay.

All fishing equipment is provided, but you will need warm clothes, food & beverages, and a Michigan fishing license. . . seasonal and one day licenses are available at local area stores.

Lighthouse at Stannard Rock Catch of the Day

Stannard Rock is one of the most exciting fishing adventures we offer. This is a full day charter to a remote lighthouse on an island in Lake Superior where fish feed near the surface and large Lake Trout are often caught. We also fish for those big Lake Trout on the Big Reef, only 30 miles offshore.

Captain Mitch offers shorter fishing trips to the Shelter Bay Flats for Lake Trout, Coho (Salmon) Chinook, and Steelhead. We also fish local areas such as Trout Bay by Grand Island and in Munising Bay. Half-day and hourly fishing charters are available so call and make your reservations for a fun day fishing on Lake Superior.
	Private sightseeing tours of Grand Island, the East Channel Lighthouse, Munising and Christmas Lighthouses and Range Lights, and the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore are also available. Spend a day or a few hours enjoying Lake Superior and the beautiful scenery in this picturesque area. The Sunset Cruise is fantastic .. . don't forget your camera.

Our Charter Boat: The Jodi Lee

The Jodi Lee is a 28' Marinette Coast Guard approved fishing boat and meets all regulation requirements. It is fully equipped with a GPS, Chart Planner, Radar, Sonar Detectors, Loran Systems, life vests, fire safety equipment, and minor medical emergency kits. The Jodi Lee accommodates up to 6 people maximum with a restroom on board.

We accept cash, checks, or money orders. If you wish to pay by credit card, we have an online processor as we cannot accept credit cards at the dock. Credit card payments must be made in advance and there is a slight fee for processing.
