Lakefront Vacation Cottage Enjoy your vacation in this comfortable vacation cottage located on the shores of AuTrain Lake with a private sandy beach. Shoreview Cottage is within 1 mile of Lake Superior and conveniently located near the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Grand Island Recreation Area, the Hiawatha National Forest, and several waterfalls in the central Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Relax and enjoy the beautiful sandy beach on AuTrain Lake. The lake is right outside the front door and has a sandy shoreline with a sand bottom . . . . shallow enough for the smaller children to have fun in the water. There is lawn furniture, a picnic table, and a campfire pit by the water. AuTrain Lake offers good fishing and is ideal for boating and water sports. A small 12' rowboat is included in the rental or you can rent a fishing boat or pontoon at a nearby resort for boating around the lake, a sunset cruise, or catching that big fish. Shoreview Cottage has two bedrooms with a sleeping area in the recreation room and a comfortable living room with a wood-burning fireplace and a TV with local programming. There are VCR & DVD players for your favorite movies. The complete kitchen contains full-size appliances, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, pots & pans, dishes, and cooking utensils.
There are two bedrooms with a double bed in each room and 1 & 1/2 bathrooms with a tub/shower combination in one and a shower in the other. The attached recreation room includes a pool table, a sleeper sofa, a small refrigerator, and a trundle bed (two twins) for extra guests. Shoreview Cottage will sleep from 6-8 guests. Linens are furnished but please bring your towels. There is a charcoal grill for outdoor cooking so don't forget the charcoal. Sit at the picnic table on the deck while you enjoy your morning coffee and early risers will be treated to the sunrise over AuTrain Lake.
Recreation abounds in Alger County and the area around AuTrain. Hile on the trails in the Pictured Rocks, on Grand Island, or the Songbird Trail at the boat landing on AuTrain Lake and learn the birds by their songs. Rent a canoe or kayak for a paddle down the AuTrain River, try your luck fishing by the cottage, or go charter fishing on Lake Superior.
