Do not ride on the lakes and rivers - snowmobiles are going through the ice.
Counties listed with main towns, some towns have reporting websites so they are also listed.
Alger County, including Grand Marais, Munising, Christmas and AuTrain. Trail to Harvey is open but please stay on the trail and observe the speed limit.
Baraga County including Baraga and L'anse. Baraga-Chassell Trail open for 2006-07.
Big Bay 25 miles north of Marquette
Chassell: Chassell -Baraga Trail will be open for winter of 2006-07. Chassell-Painesdale Trail is closed. Chassell-Houghton Trail is still closed as of November 2006 . . probably going to court.
Chippewa County including Sault Ste. Marie
Curtis, at the Manistique Lakes
Detour, at the southeast corner of the Upper Peninsula
Drummond Island Area including DeTour and Sault Ste Marie in Chippewa County and St Ignace in Mackinac county
Gogebic County, including Ironwood and the Lake Gogebic Area, Bessemer, Wakefield

Houghton County, including Hancock, Houghton, Chassell, Twin Lakes. Chassell Painesdale trail is still closed. The DNR is working on a Chassell-Houghton trail, hopefully coming soon.
Iron Mountain Area including Dickinson County

Ishpeming, west of Marquette and snowmobile friendly
Keweenaw County, including Houghton, Copper Harbor, Calumet, Laurium.
Kinross in the Eastern Upper Peninsula
Lake Gogebic Report from Bergland MI.
Les Cheneaux Area in the Eastern Upper Peninsula
Luce County, including Newberry, Paradise
Manistique, check for Schoolcraft County in the central Upper Peninsula
Marquette County, including Ishpeming, Marquette, Negaunee, Big Bay, Champion. New trail open 2006 through Negaunee business district for food, shopping, and lodging.
Marquette and Alger County Trail is now open from AuTrain to Harvey but please stay on the trail and observe the posted speed limits.
Munising including Christmas and AuTrain in Alger County
Mackinac County, including St. Ignace
Ontonagon County, including Ontonagon, Porcupine Mountains, White Pine, Bruce Crossing
Paradise. Town Trail is now open but please stay on the trail and observe the 15 mph speed limit.
Sault Ste Marie, MI and surrounding area
