Calumet, MI

• North Shore Cottage, Tamarack Waterworks Road, Calumet, MI 49913. Phone 906-337-3127. Located 3.5 miles from Calumet on the shores of Lake Superior. Housekeeping cottage with extra amenities sleeps up to 6.

Chassell, MI (Chassell-Painesdale Trail still closed for 2006-2007 season). The DNR is working on a trail from Chassell to Houghton, but it is presently being blocked by property owners. Chassell to Baraga Trail is open for 2006-07.

• Chippewa Motel, US Highway 41, P.O. Box 470, Chassell MI, 49916. Phone 906-523-4611. This 15-room motel overlooking Chassell Bay. All rooms are different. Some kitchenettes, some with 2 bedrooms, some with twins, doubles or queens. Whatever arrangement you need is available here. Handicapped accessible.
• Cottage Getaway on Portage Lake, between Chassell and Houghton. Call 906-523-4260. Cottage has 3 bedrooms downstairs, 2 bathrooms, and a loft with 2 double beds. Loft with pool table, cable TV, and dart board. Full kitchen. Wood stove.

Near cross- country ski and snowmobile trails. 9 miles south of Houghton.

Hancock, MI

Houghton, MI

Pelkie, MI

South Range, MI

Twin Lakes , MI (Toivola) 25 miles south of Houghton by the Bill Nicholls Trail
