The So Far ~ So-o-o Good Cottage is located on Big Manistique Lake, approximately 65 miles northwest of the Mackinac Bridge just west of Curtis, Michigan in the Upper Peninsula. The cabin sleeps up to 8 with a master bedroom on the first floor and an upper loft sleeping area which will sleep 6. This open concept chalet has a dining and living area with a woodburning fireplace. There is a full bath with shower and tub plus a utility room with a washer and dryer. The fully equipped kitchen includes a microwave. Enjoy the beautiful view The wrap around deck is great for sitting or eating or cooking on the charcoal grill. There is a firepit by the lake for those evening campfires. Cook some hot dogs and marshmallows as you enjoy a beautiful starlit evening. The So Far So Good Chalet has a great sandy swimming beach and comes with a two person paddle boat and a 14 foot fishing boat. If this boat is not big enough, larger boats including fishing boats and pontoon boats and motors may be rented at the Fish and Hunt Shop in Curtis.
During the winter months, head down the driveway and you will connect to the many miles of local trails that join the over 2,500 miles of interconnecting trails covering the Upper Peninsula. Snowmobile Rental in Curtis. If you are fishing or snowmobiling late on Big Manistique Lake, there is a large floodlight on the cottage to guide you home. Nearby Attractions Include: The fabulous Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore; The natural beauty of the lower and upper Tahquamenon Falls; Big Springs (Kitch-iti-kipi), known to the indians as the mirror of heaven; Seul Choix Lighthouse, Park and Museum, known locally as "the haunted lighthouse"; Mackinac Island; The Soo locks; the Seney National Wildlife Refuge ; Grand Sable Falls and Sand Dunes in Grand Marais; the Ghost Town of Fayette Historic State Park; Whitefish Point Lighthouse, the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum, Whitefish Point Bird Observatory and Whitefish Point Underwater Diving Preserve; Canoe, Kayak and Mountain Bike Rentals; and the Newberry Public Golf Course. Summer rental (June, July, August) is by the week, Saturday to Saturday rental. 3 day minimum the rest of the year.
