Manistique Lake, 3 miles north of Curtis, MI, and only 65
miles west of the Mackinac Bridge in the Upper Peninsula of
Michigan.
Sunset Pointe Resort is open year round and offers
four large 2 or 3 bedroom rental cottages overlooking Big
Manistique Lake. Cottages have fully equipped kitchens with
a microwave, comfortable living rooms with 27" color
satellite TV with DVD and VCR, and bathrooms with a
tub/shower combination. Linens and towels are
provided.
The newly remodeled cottages at Sunset Pointe Resort
have a large front yard with a gradual slope down to the 260
feet of sand beach with a long dock for your boat. Ideal for
swimming or lounging by the beach. Playground area for the
children and a large deck for relaxing and enjoying the
view. Picnic tables overlook the lake with charcoal and gas
grills for your outdoor cooking. Sit around the fire pit and
roast marshmallows while you enjoy the outstanding sunsets
and the beautiful night sky over the lake
Enjoy water skiing, tubing, and wake boarding in Big
Manistique Lake or try your luck fishing. Bring your boat
and water toys and get ready for some summer fun.
Big Manistique Lake is one of the largest inland lakes
in Michigan and has excellent fishing for Walleye, Northern
Pike, Bluegill, Sunfish, Perch, and Musky. Locker storage
inside the fish house for your fishing gear.
The Fish and Hunt Shop offers 14' fishing boat and
motor rental packages, or you can rent pontoon boats,
fishing boats, paddle boats, jet boats, and ATV's.

Sunset Pointe Resort is centrally located so you can
enjoy visiting the many area attractions and return to the
relaxing atmosphere of your cabin on the water. Seney
National Wildlife Refuge is just 10 miles west of Curtis.
Hike, bike, or canoe in the Refuge or take the Wildlife
Drive. Stop at the Visitor Center and enjoy the interpretive
displays and special exhibits. Many unusual birds make their
home in the refuge offering wonderful opportunities for
photographers.
Take a day trip and visit Seul Choix Lighthouse near
Gulliver and Big Springs, Kitch-iti-Kipi Michigan's largest
spring, in Palms Book State Park. A trip north east will
take you to the beautiful Tahquamenon Upper and Lower Falls,
Whitefish Point Lighthouse, and the Great Lakes Shipwreck
Museum. The adventurous will enjoy taking the back road up
to Crisp Point Lighthouse, a lone tower sitting on the
secluded Lake Superior sand beach. Bird watchers might like
to visit the Whitefish Point Bird Observatory and the
surrounding area is ideal for seeing unusual birds and
wildlife.
Fall colors around Big Manistique Lake are beautiful
and Sunset Pointe offers a central location for color trips
or some fall fishing. Special Fall rates after Labor
Day.
Winter brings ice fishing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing,
and cross country skiing. The
Fish and Hunt Shop rents Ski-Doo Snowmobiles and
special rental packages are available. Ride from the door on
trails that will take you throughout the entire Upper
Peninsula. Excellent cross country ski trails at the Seney
National Refuge with ski and snowshoe rental at Northland
Outfitters in Germfask.
Sunset Pointe Resort is located 3 miles north of
Curtis, Michigan on Highway H-33. We offer daily, weekly, or
monthly rentals. Pets are welcome with prior
approval.
