The village of Hulbert is only 50 miles from the bridge so the Tahquamenon Hotel makes a wonderful stopping point on your Upper Peninsula visit and is conveniently located near wonderful outdoor recreation and several interesting attractions.  The Toonerville Trolley and Riverboat Tour to Tahquamenon Falls is only 10 miles from the hotel.  The town of Newberry is 23 miles for shopping, dining, and the Tahquamenon Logging Museum. The Crisp Point Lighthouse and stunning Tahquamenon Falls are a short drive further north and make an interesting day trip.

Fishing is great on the East Branch of the Tahquamenon River. There is a private boat ramp that is open to the public for a small charge.  Many other inland lakes and streams offer exciting fishing adventures. Surrounded by the Hiawatha National Forest and the Lake Superior State Forest, there are hundreds of acres of public land for hiking, ATVing, and hunting for large and small game.

The Tahquamenon Hotel is on the ATV and snowmobile trail. Ride from the door and enjoy the beauty of the unspoiled wilderness. Lots of winter snow makes the Tahquamenon Hotel a great spot to stay while you ride the hundreds of groomed snowmobile trails. Bring your friends and take a ride into the backcountry where few have visited. There is a place to eat lunch and dinner across the street from the hotel where you might be able to see deer in their back yard

The Tahquamenon hotel was originally built in 1919 as a bunkhouse and company store for the Parrish Wooden Bowl Factory, later becoming the Tahquamenon Hotel and an important gathering place for the town residents.  A fun Quasquicentennial was held in 2013 celebrating the towns 125th anniversary.

Your hosts, Grant and Joan Dewitt are descendents of some of the original settlers of Hulbert and welcome you to their historic hotel.
