Tranquility Haven is a beautiful custom home located on Squaw Beach by Lake Superior in the town of Big Bay, MI, 25 miles north of Marquette in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Squaw Beach, only 50' from the vacation home, offers miles of sugar sand beach and shallow waters without rocks for excellent swimming, canoeing, and kayaking.

Tranquility Haven offers three very private deluxe vacation lodgings under one roof. All are connected and will accommodate up to 26 guests. Fantasy Beach House Luxury Vacation Home will accommodate a couple or a group of up to 14 guests. The Bay View Cabin will sleep up to 8 guests, and the Bay View Suite has one bedroom and is perfect for 2-4 guests. All lodgings have Wi-Fi, a breathtaking view of Lake Superior, and use of the sandy beach. Fantasy Beach House, Bay View Cabin, and Bay View Suite must be rented together during June, July, and August but can be rented individually from September through May.
With over 7,500 square feet, you can relax in these elegant accommodations on the shores of Lake Superior. Fantasy Beach House is fully furnished and has a complete kitchen containing a Wolf cooking range, dishwasher, refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, and a toaster. There is a laundry room with a washer and dryer. There are two dining areas, one by the kitchen overlooking the lake and the other in the great room offering plenty of seating for a large group.
The Beach House has five large bedrooms and three bathrooms. There are two bedrooms on the main floor with a queen-size bed in each bedroom. The Master Bedroom is on the upper level and contains a four poster king bed and Dish TV. Patio doors lead to a large balcony overlooking Lake Superior. There are three bathrooms. Two bathrooms have a tub/shower combination and one bathroom has a shower.
The Fantasy Beach House will sleep up to 14 guests,
but is also perfect for a couple that just wants to relax in
this beautiful home on the shores of Lake Superior.
A Step Back in Time
This handicap accessible three-bedroom cabin is located on the end of Tranquility Haven and is all on one floor. The great room is furnished and decorated with turn-of-the-century antiques, a wood-burning fireplace, Wi-Fi, and a Dish TV with a DVD player. The open concept kitchen contains all appliances including a dishwasher. Laundry woom with a washer and dryer.
The three bedrooms are located just off the deck and
are all on the main floor.

Bay View Suite
This cozy large one-bedroom luxury suite is located on the upper level over the deck and features a cooking area with a convection oven, small grill, microwave, and a refrigerator. The bedroom has a four poster king-size bed and there is a sofa sleeper in the living area for extra guests. Electric fireplace, Wi-Fi, and DirecTV with a DVD player. A door on the main floor leads to the beachside deck for relaxing or fixing a tasty barbecue.

Linens and paper products are provided for all
the lodgings, but please bring your own towels.
The deck overlooking the Lake has lawn furniture and gas and charcoal grills for outdoor cooking. There is a picnic table in the front yard for dining. We provide yard games, volleyballl or horseshoes, and there is a fire pit for campfires under the stars. The night sky is especially brilliant on the shores of Lake Superior as there are no city lights to mar the view.
We have replica of an original Tepee located by Tranquility Haven that is available for our guests to use.
Area Attractions and Recreation
Relax and enjoy this beautiful setting on Squaw Beach by Lake Superior. Miles of sugar sand beach await you for a stroll on the beach or just sitting in a lawn chair and taking in this fantastic view.
Tranquility Haven in Big Bay is only 25 miles north of Marquette on the edge of the Huron Mountains. Visit the Thomas Rock Overlook for a great view of Lake Independence and Lake Superior. Enjoy the beauty of Lake Superior or venture into the forests for hiking, ATVing, hunting, mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. There are many nearby lakes and streams beckoning the angler and kayaker. Lake Independence is noted for excellent fishing of pike, walleye, perch, and small-mouth bass. There is a public boat launch at Perkins Park and Big Bay Harbor. Canoes, kayaks, and 12' and 14' fishing boats with safety gear are available for our guests to rent.
Big Bay was the setting for filming parts of the classic movie "Anatomy of a Murder". Several businesses have interesting information and photos from this event. Lighthouse lovers will enjoy touring the Big Bay Lighthouse or the Marquette Lighthouse in Marquette. Marquette, the Upper Peninsula's largest city, also offers shopping, unique galleries, a Maritime Museum, Children's Museum, Lakeview Arena, the Olympic Training Center, and fine dining.
Tranquility Haven is within one mile of the main snowmobile trail and can be accessed right from the door of the lodgings. Ride the many trails in the Huron Mountains with trails leading all the way to Baraga. Excellent cross-country ski trails in Big Bay, Marquette, and Ishpeming. Marquette Mountain offers downhill skiing and snowboarding. Snowshoers will love stomping through the woods and ice fishing opportunities abound.
