Paradise Resort in Paradise MI, Open Year Round The Travelers Motel is located on the main street in downtown Paradise within easy walking distance to shops and restaurants and has 10 ground floor rooms so you can park at your door. The Bears Den Rental Cottage located 5 miles north of Paradise has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a gas fireplace, and beach access on Whitefish Bay. Available the summer of 2008. The Travelers Motel has rooms and suites available with one, two, or three beds plus one connecting room to accommodate individual travelers or an entire family. Our rooms are equipped with a color TV, shower, and in-room coffee. The suites have two double beds, a pull-out couch, microwave, and refrigerator. We also have a newly remodeled suite with a king-size bed, microwave and refrigerator.
Our large outdoor area has picnic tables and grills if you would like to picnic or cookout after a busy day, or just and enjoy the sunshine and the fresh air. Swings for the children. Large parking lot to accommodate trailers and you can snowmobile from the door. Starting in January 2008, you can enjoy our weekend bonfires and the new barbecue pit and grill where we will have bratwurst and hot dogs for sale to munch on as you sit around the fire. Smoking and Non-Smoking rooms available. Pets Welcome in designated rooms
Our new Food Wagon is the place to stop for
hot dogs, brats, corn dogs, french fries, chili and
other items. Cold drinks, coffee and hot chocolate
are also available. Pop and water are in plastic bottles so you
can pick up some for the trail.
Available Summer 2008 The Bears Den rental cottage is 5 miles north of Paradise at 13784 Whitefish Point Road. This newly built cottage has 3 bedrooms with queen-size beds in each room and two bathrooms. Two bedrooms are on the main level with a full bathroom and the master bedroom is upstairs with a 3/4 bath. The living area has a comfortable seating area around the gas fireplace and a TV with a DVD player, sorry local reception only. Complete kitchen with dishes, silverware, glasses, pans, microwave, toaster, and a coffee maker with coffee. Washer and dryer.
Bedding and towels are provided for our guests but you need to bring your food and condiments, paper plates, napkins, and other paper products, hair dryer, and don't forget the toys.
The Bears Den Cottage has easy trail access and a large parking lot for trailers. Rates for Bears Den Cottage: There is a $500.00 security
deposit in addition to the above rates. Sorry, no smoking indoors and no pets. Whitefish Bay Trading Company at the Travelers Motel The Whitefish Bay Trading Company Shop includes:
Whitefish Point, 11 miles north of the Travelers Motel, offers visitors a glimpse into the history of the underwater ships that once sailed Lake Superior. Surrounding Whitefish Point is the Whitefish Point Dive Preserve offering divers opportunities to dive many of these shipwrecks. There are possible dives for all levels of experience with wrecks from 30' to over 400' in depth. The Bell from the Edmund Fitzgerald and information about the shipwrecks that are resting off Whitefish Point can be found at the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum at Whitefish Point. While visiting Whitefish Point you might like to tour the Whitefish Point Lighthouse, now a museum but still an operating light guiding ships around the Point, take a walk on the sand beach in front of the Lighthouse, or stop at the Whitefish Point Bird Observatory and they will tell you what birds, butterflies, and wildflowers can be found in the area and where to look for them. Tahquamenon Upper and Lower Falls are beautiful all year long and there are hiking trails through the State Park that become cross country ski trails during the winter. The Paradise Pathways Cross Country Ski Trail is also popular. Try snowshoeing in the deep woods around Paradise. Snowshoes can be rented at the Travelers Motel for a fun time in the deep snow or head out on snowmobiles for an exciting ride. The Paradise Area offers miles of groomed trails that connect to trails leading all over the Upper Peninsula so get out and have some fun in the snow.
