The Negaunee Union Station Railroad Depot in Negaunee, MI, 13 miles west of Marquette in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, offers lodging for travelers or is a unique location for holding special events. This historic railroad train depot in Negaunee has been completely renovated and offers lodging for up to 8 guests. The Union Station Depot has a complete kitchen and large dining area that will seat up to 60 guests and can be rented for hosting business meetings, private parties, bridal & baby showers, or group gatherings. The Union Station Depot Lodge features a main living area with a wood- burning stove, comfortable couches, two "Murphy" beds, and a projection TV. Relax in comfort in front of the wood fire after a busy day in the area.
The master bedroom at the west end of the Union Station Depot has a queen-sized bed and a private bath with shower while there are two queen-sized "Murphy" beds in the living room with an adjacent bath with shower. The East Room contains a sauna with sleeping quarters in the loft above the sauna. A ladder leads to the queen bed in the loft. Radiant floor heating keeps the depot comfortable for our guests on those cooler nights in the Upper Peninsula.
The complete modern kitchen contains a dishwasher, microwave, toaster, full sized appliances, dishes, pots & pans, and a coffee maker complete with coffee, creamer, and sugar - - all ready for you to brew a fresh cup when you arrive.
Bring your food, beverages, and snacks and you are all set for a wonderful stay in this depot built in 1910 and used by passengers on the Chicago Northwestern Peninsula 400 and the Duluth, South Shore, and Atlantic railroad trains. The lovely dining area was originally the waiting room for the Negaunee Union Station with interior windows where passengers bought their tickets and waited for their train to pull into the depot. shops, galleries, and historical sites such as the
Iron Industry Museum located only a few miles away.
After enjoying the area, relax in our
sauna. Visit Marquette where you will find fine dining, unique shops & galleries, Northern Michigan University, the Superior Dome, the Olympic Education Center, golf courses, hiking and biking trails, and several area waterfalls. The Union Station Lodge is on the snowmobile trail so you can ride right from the station door on trails that connect throughout the Upper Peninsula. Marquette Mountain offers exciting downhill skiing and there are numerous groomed cross-country ski trails with skiing events scheduled throughout the winter.
