The Historic Victorian Home is located in the town of L’Anse at the base of Keweenaw Bay (Lake Superior) in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This lovely 3-bedroom home was built in 1890 and contains some of the original furnishings. The covered wrap-around porch is wonderful for sitting and relaxing and there is a deck near the back of the home with a table and chairs and a gas grill for outdoor dining.
The Victorian Home is beautifully furnished with period furniture throughout with a large screen TV with a DVD player and network streaming in the living area. The complete kitchen has everything you need for preparing meals and a dishwasher for your convenience. There is a 1/2 bath on the main level.
The Victorian Home has three bedrooms, a sitting room, and a washer dryer on the second floor. Two bedrooms have a queen bed in each room and the third bedroom has two twin beds. The full bathroom contains the original claw foot tub and a separate shower stall. Bed linens, towels, and paper products are furnished for our guests.
The Victorian Home is located within walking distance of downtown L’Anse for shopping, dining, and the scenic Waterfront Park with a swimming beach, children's playground, picnic area and a pavilion. The L’Anse Marina is by the park for launching your boat. Enjoy relaxing in this wonderful park, listen to the waves lap along the shoreline, swim in the refreshing water, enjoy the summer concerts, or go fishing. Keweenaw Bay is known for its World Class Lake Trout Fishing so you might catch that Big one. A well-stocked 4-season sport shop is only 1 block from the park.
Visit the sparking waterfalls, the casino in Baraga, the Sand Point Lighthouse, or one of the several area museums including the Historic Museum in the sawmill town of Alberta, once owned by Henry Ford. Pete’s Petting Zoo on the north side of Baraga is fun for the children.
Recreation abounds in the area near the Victorian Home. There are great hiking trails including the one to Mt. Avon, the highest point in Michigan. Mountain bike on the many trails and back roads, kayak or fish the exciting streams, golf on the 9-hole L’Anse course, or boat on Keweenaw Bay.
The large drive has plenty of room for your trailers and gear so get ready for a fun vacation at the Historic Victorian Home by Keweenaw Bay.
