Travel through the State and National Forest on one of the forest roads or follow the clearly marked walking trails to a secluded lake or stream.

State and National Forest Trails are open in the winter for cross-country skiing enthusiasts.

Explore the 33,000 acre Whisker Lake Federal Wilderness area, but please don’t feed the bears.

Explore some of Northern Wisconsin’s many lakes and streams. These waters are the ideal place for skiing, canoeing, swimming. boating, or kayaking, Two designated “Wild Rivers” (the Popple and the Pine) wander through the woods almost undisturbed by man.
