Yooper Lodge, Yooper Cabin, and Yooper Bungalow are nestled in the woods of the Copper Country State Forest in Twin Lakes, MI in the Western Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Located on Highway M-26, just 25 miles south of Houghton, Yooper Lodge and Yooper Cabin are right by the Bill Nicholls Multi-Use Trail for ATVing and snowmobiling and only 2 miles south of the Twin Lakes, Roland Lake and Lake Gerald, for swimming, boating, and fishing.

Yooper Lodge:
Yooper Lodge will accommodate up to 14 guests and is located on 8 acres of wooded land. The ideal spot for your large or small group. The lodge has a large country style kitchen with full sized appliances, a microwave, and a coffee maker with coffee, cooking and eating utensils, a breakfast nook and a dining room with a large table by a picture window. The living room has two double-sized sleeper sofas, satellite TV/VCR with a movie library, recliner, platform rocker, and a ceiling fan. The main floor has a bathroom with a tub/shower combination and a sunroom . . . a great place to store your gear.

Bears Den
Whitetail Haven

There are 4 bedrooms upstairs and a half bath with a shower room. Towels, soap, and shampoo are provided for our guests. The bedrooms have the following sleeping arrangements: The "Cubby" has 1 double bed, the "Bears Den" has 1 double bed and 3 twin beds, "Whitetail Haven" has 1 double bed and 1 twin bed, and the "Moose Room" has 3 twin beds. The twin beds in the Moose Room can be converted into a king-sized bed.

Yooper Cabin:
The new Yooper Cabin is located on 27 acres of wooded land and will sleep up to 4 guests. The cozy cabin has an open concept area with a full kitchen with microwave, toaster, coffee maker, necessary cooking utensils and dishes. The living area has a futon couch converts into a full-sized bed, Satellite TV and VCR with a movie collection. The cabin has one bedroom with 2 twin beds that can be made into a king-sized bed and a front porch. The Yooper Cabin has a bathroom with a shower.


Yooper Bungalow
The Yooper Bungalow is a Snowmobilers' heaven.  It has fully equipped kitchen including coffee!  All you need to bring is the food you like to eat.  The living room has 2 love seats, sofa, and chairs, satellite TV, VCR and movies. The dining room has a large table by sliding glass doors.  Also in the Bungalow are cards, games, puzzles and books.  It has 3 comfy bedrooms ready made for your great nights sleep.  The bungalow sleeps up to 8 people. 

One bedroom has 1 double bed and 1 twin bed, the other two bedrooms each have 3 twin beds.  There is a full bathroom that has shampoo and soap as well as towels etc.  Also there is lots of room to park your big snowmobile trailers and trucks!

The bungalow is on 25 acres of wooded land. Across the road from the Bungalow is the groomed Bill Nichols Snowmobile trail!  Easy access from the lodge & gas is 2 miles down the Trail!

 


Yooper Lodge, Yooper Cabin, & Yooper Bungalow

Both the lodge, the bungalow, and the cabin have lawn furniture and a gas BBQ grill for cooking burgers, brats, fresh fish, or other tasty treats. Cards, games, puzzles and a selection of books are available for guests to enjoy.

Linens, towels, and paper products are supplied but you might want to bring paper plates and napkins.

All you need to bring is your food and you are all set for a great vacation.

The Mini-Mart, 2 miles north on M-26, has gas, a few groceries, deli items, as well as fishing gear and some snowmobile parts.

Summer visitors will find a public swimming beach at Twin Lakes State Park and there are several nearby lakes and streams for boating and fishing. Dave loves to fish and he will be glad to point you to some of the good fishing spots.

The 9-hole Wyandotte Golf Course is only 3 miles north for a round of golf and or you might like to search for agates at Misery Bay on Lake Superior for a fun outing.

Shopping and sightseeing in Houghton and Hancock or you can tour the old Adventure Copper Mine in nearby Greenland. The surrounding Copper Country State Forest offers miles and miles of public land for hunting, fishing, hiking, and canoeing. The Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park is only a short drive or you might like to take a day trip up to the Keweenaw Peninsula.

Yooper Lodge and Yooper Cabin are conveniently located only 11 miles north of Mass City and 25 miles south of Houghton and Michigan Tech University, the Rozsa Center, and Finlandia University.

The Bill Nicholls Multi Use trail is right by the Lodge and Cabin so bring your machines and get ready for some fun. This trail runs from Houghton to Mass City and offers a wonderful ride through the wilderness. Rental ATV's and snowmobiles are available in Houghton.

Winter

Snowmobilers will enjoy riding the Bill Nicholls trail that connects to the north with the trail over the Houghton Bridge and on to the Keweenaw Peninsula or you can ride south towards Mass City, Ontonagon, and the Porcupine Mountains.

Cross-country ski trails in Twin Lakes and Houghton and downhill skiers will have fun at Mt. Ripley in Hancock.

Want to try out a little ice fishing? Dave has a guide service with all the gear, shanties, and heaters so just call or e-mail him if you want a winter fishing trip.

This area in the Western Upper Peninsula gets tons of snow so start planning that winter vacation now.

Yooper Lodge:
Summer Rates: $100 per night for up to 8 guests. $10 per person over 8 guests.
Winter Rates: $240 a night for up to 8 guests. Groups over 8 please call or e-mail us for rates.

Yooper Cabin:
Summer Rates: $50 per night for up to 4 guests.
Winter Rates: $120 per night for up to 4 guests.

Yooper Bungalow:
Summer Rates: $75 per night for up to 6 guests. $10 per person over 6 guests.
Winter Rates: $180 per night for up to 6 guests. Groups over 6 please call or e-mail us for rates.

Campers: Dave's Wood Bin has dried hardwood in large bundles for your campfires. $5.00 a bundle.
Wood is also available at the Pines Service Station in L'Anse, Lake Gogebic State Park,
and the Porcupine Mountains State Park, Presque Isle Unit.
