Yuper Escape is a newly built three-bedroom modular home that is perfect for your vacation in the Manistique Lakes area of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Curtis MI is only 65 miles west of the Mackinac Bridge, an ideal spot for that vacation at the lake. There is a nice sandy swimming beach with a dock only a few easy steps from the front door of the cottage.

Yuper Escape has a nice large living area with comfortable couches, satellite TV, a DVD player, and a CD player. The complete kitchen has a microwave, coffee maker, toaster, cooking & eating utensils, and a dishwasher. Laundry with washer and dryer. The dining area has 6 chairs and there is a snack bar.

The cottage has three bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms with a tub/shower combination. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed, the second bedroom has a queen-sized bed, and the third bedroom has a set of twin bunk beds and a queen-sized bed. There is a large couch in the living area for extra guests.

Please bring your own sheets, bath towels, beach towels, soap, and paper products. Winter guests might want to bring blankets and don't forget the charcoal and starter fluid for your bar-b-cues cooked on the charcoal grill.

Yuper Escape has a deck with chairs that overlooks the lake for enjoying the view and the marvelous sunsets. The large yard in front of the vacation home is nice and flat for easy access to the dock and the beach.

Big Manistique Lake is a wonderful lake for your favorite water sports. There is dock for sunning and fishing and the beach has a sand bottom. Children of all ages will have fun playing in the water. Enjoy swimming, boating, water skiing, tubing, wakeboarding, and fishing, so bring your water toys and have a relaxing vacation at the lake. Rental snowmobiles, ATV's, paddle boats, fishing boats, pontoons, sport boats, and motors are available in Curtis at the Fish and Hunt Shop.

There is a fire pit for your campfires where you can sit around in the evening and roast hot dogs and marshmallows. Relax and enjoy a beautiful starlit night as you look out over the lake.

Yuper Escape is conveniently located for taking day trips to visit many Upper Peninsula attractions. The Seney Wildlife Refuge is just west of Curtis. Stop at the Visitor Center for interesting displays and video presentations, check on the hiking & biking trails, or take the 7 mile Wildlife Marshland Drive, a self guided auto tour with docks and spotting scopes along the way. Canoes can be rented in Germfask (by the refuge) for a relaxing paddle on the Manistique River.

The Seul Choix Lighthouse is nearby in Gulliver. Tour the restored lighthouse, climb the tower of this active light, watch the interesting video presentation, or browse the gift shop for interesting books and nautical gifts. You might also like to visit Kitch-iti-kipi, Michigan's largest Spring at Palm's Book State Park just northwest of Manistique, or continue on to the Garden Peninsula and Fayette Historic Townsite, a restored iron smelting village on the shores of Lake Michigan. The Threefold Vine Winery & Tasting Room near Fayette is open for tours.

If you drive north to Newberry, you might like to visit the Tahquamenon Area Logging Museum, Tahquamenon Upper and Lower Falls, the Whitefish Point Lighthouse, the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum, and the Whitefish Point Bird Observatory north of Paradise for an interesting trip. Then return to Yuper Lodge for a relaxing evening by Big Manistique Lake.

Golfers will enjoy the Newberry Country Club, an 18 hole course in Newberry; Wild Bluff 18 hole course in Bay Mills near Brimley; or the courses in Manistique.

Winter visitors will find easy access to the snowmobile trails that traverse through the Upper Peninsula with snowmobile rentals in Curtis. There are cross-country ski trails in Curtis or at the Seney Refuge for skiing or snowshoeing, while ice fishermen will enjoy fishing right in front of the cottage in Big Manistique Lake.
