Joel Creek Cabin is a clean, well kept, 3 bedroom rental cabin located in the heart of the Hiawatha National Forest in Au Train MI in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Conveniently located between Munising and Marquette, many attractions await your discovery. Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Grand Island Recreation Area, boat tours, waterfalls, canoeing, and other recreational opportunities.

Available 365 days a year, Joel Creek Cabin is just south of Au Train with easy access to ATV and snowmobile trails. Sleeps up to 8, with linens, towels, paper products, grill and canoe provided. Kitchen has full sized appliances, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, cooking utensils, dishes and silverware.

Joel Creek Cabin has three bedrooms with a double bed in one bedroom and a single bed in the other. The third bedroom has two double beds. Sleeps up to 8. The bathroom has a large shower. Linens, towels, toilet paper, and paper towels are furnished for our guests.

The cottage has a front porch with a glider and there is a table and lawn chairs for relaxing and enjoying the beauty of the northwoods. Gas grill for some outdoor cooking and a fire pit for roasting marshmallows.

The cabin is right by Joel Creek, a well-known trout stream so bring your rod and try out your luck. Try some fresh fish cooked on the grill . . . Delicious!

AuTrain offers wonderful recreational opportunities for visitors to the area. The cabin has direct access to the many ATV trails so you can have great riding through the wilderness

AuTrain Lake is ideal for boating, swimming, and fishing. Boats and canoes can be rented nearby and there is a public swimming beach and boat ramp at the AuTrain Lake Forest campground.

Enjoy hiking on the Song Bird Interpretive Trail where you can learn the birds by their song. Trailhead at campsite #11. Tapes available from the campground host.

The beautiful sand beach on Lake Superior is less than 2 miles north of the cabin. Take your lunch and have a wonderful day at the beach. Paddlers will enjoy canoeing or kayaking the peaceful AuTrain River from the campground or from the south bridge all the way to Lake Superior.

The Hiawatha National Forest offers hundreds of acres of public land for fishing, biking, and hunting for deer, bear, small game, and birds. Scuba dive in the Alger Underwater Preserve, hike the many trails in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, or go hiking or biking on Grand Island. Bike rentals available at the Grand Island ferry dock.

WINTER FUN

Winter brings tons of snow to Alger County and the AuTrain area. Snowmobile from the door, go cross country skiing on the nearby trails, try out some snowshoes, or go dog sledding at Triple Creek Kennel, just south of AuTrain in Forest Lake at the junction with M-94.
