North Country Cabin is locaated 5 miles southwest of Munising in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This is a private cottage in a peaceful wooded area with access to Perch Lake.
North Country Cabin has two bedrooms, each with a queen size bed, one bathroom, and comes complete with towels and bedding. There is a queen size sleeper sofa in the main room for additional guests making the cabin able to sleep up to six persons.
There is a full kitchen, laundry with washer and dryer, a great room with DIRECTV and VCR, wireless internet, and a cozy wood stove. Firewood is provided. The North Country Cabin sits on a secluded site, adjacent to public lands and entered by a private drive.
There is access to Perch Lake, one of the best fishing lakes in the area, including a boat launch and private beach that has a shallow sandy bottom, great for the children. Dock for relaxing, reading, or just enjoying the wonderful view of the woods and water. Bring your canoe, fishing boat, or kayak and enjoy paddling or fishing for blue gill and bass, delicious cooked on the charcoal grill.
There is direct snowmobile trail access offering trails throughout Alger County and it is only five miles by trail to Munising or Christmas. Snowmobile from the door. If you don't have a sled, there is snowmobile rental in Munising. Close to Valley Spur cross country ski trails. For summer fun, there are ATV trails nearby.
There is a full RV hookup available on site for a small fee. The cabin is smoke free (no smoking permitted).
Pets are allowed with special arrangements.
Make the North Country Cabin a delightful part of your U.P. experience! There is a fire pit for your nightly campfire by the cabin. Charcoal grill, table and chairs on the front porch for your cook-outs.
From Munising, go west on M-28 to the junction with M-94 West. Turn on M-94 west. go 3 miles from the junction. On your left will be the Valley Spur Inn, on your right is Perch Lake Road. (Perch Lake Road is unmarked.) Take a right onto Perch Lake Road. Drive 1 mile to a "y" in the road. Take the road on your right. Drive 2/10ths of a mile from the "y". The road takes a sharp left, the driveway to North Country Cabin is straight. You'll recognize it from the pictures!
North Country Cabin is open year round for your recreational pleasure and offers you relaxation and comfort in a beautiful wilderness area. .
